I am now practising as a Manual therapist after 36 years working as a Registered Osteopath (General Osteopathic Council). I qualified in 1986 after a four year full-time course at the European School of Osteopathy (ESO).
I spent the first five years in practice working in two busy central London multi disciplinary clinics. I then relocated to Bristol in 1991 where I have continued to work both privately and within the NHS at Wellspring Health Living Centre. I was part of an NHS funded team of Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths within the Physical Therapy centre at Wellspring. We worked alongside a strong Social Prescribing team in a socioeconomically challenged area of Bristol.
I spent two years tutoring at the ESO, a year working at the Osteopathic Centre for Children and 6 years tutoring for the Sutherland Cranial College.
Over the years I have practised Pilates, Yoga, Alexander technique, Qigong, Feldenkrais and meditation. I apply and pass on what I have learnt from these disciplines to my clients. I am a keen mountaineer, walker, runner and cyclist.
Before my osteopathic training I gained a degree in Environmental Sciences, following which I undertook geological research. I later studied Environmental Education at Prescott Centre College, Arizona, and worked in the outdoor programme of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, USA.
